Last year, Detroit's Day Residue released i love what you’ve done with the place, a ferocious EP that was diverse in its disgruntled punkiness. Since then, they shared the one-off "Lackey." Today, they've returned with two new singles "Gag Order" and "Hypothetical" that continue their stellar streak.
On the ragged ripper "Gag Order," Day Residue continue to pour gasoline on their fury, this time aiming at complacency. "It's getting fuckin' atrocious/ You're always getting stuck in the motions/ While everything is corroding/ You've still got nothing to say," goes the song's second verse. It's a track that demands you to give a fuck, to speak up, to scream your lungs out. And it does indeed feature one delicious scream at the end. The accompanying track "Hypothetical" starts off as a skittering electro-punk and then tailwhips into doom-ladden hardcore. Check them out below.
